# PENTAD Critical Integrations: What Has Shipped and What Is Still Coming When Cardano's DReps approved a 70 million ADA Critical Integrations Budget in late 2025, the five entities behind the initiative (Input Output Group, Cardano Foundation, EMURGO, Intersect, and Midnight Foundation, collectively known as PENTAD) committed to delivering the infrastructure Cardano's DeFi needed most: stablecoins, oracles, cross-chain bridges, analytics, and custody tools. Several months in, two integrations are live, two are in progress, and a second phase is in early design. ## What Is Live The most significant delivery so far is USDCx on Cardano mainnet, confirmed on February 27, 2026. USDCx is backed 1:1 by USDC through Circle's xReserve infrastructure and uses the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol to enable burn-and-mint capital flows without relying on third-party bridges. In the first week following launch, Cardano's total stablecoin supply increased by over 40%. It is the first Tier-1 stablecoin natively available on Cardano and the first verifiable mainnet delivery under the Critical Integrations budget. Dune Analytics is fully onboarded and live. Cardano on-chain data is now integrated into Dune's platform, giving builders, researchers, and institutions access to queryable SQL dashboards covering core network activity, staking and validator dynamics, smart contract usage via Plutus, and ecosystem growth metrics including token issuance and user activity. Cardano data is now queryable on the same platform used for many of other chains, enabling consistent cross-chain comparisons for the first time. ## What Is Still Coming Pyth Network oracle smart contracts are code-complete as of the March 31 progress report, with audits in progress and off-chain components nearing completion. DevNet and testnet deployments are done. Mainnet launch is targeting early Q2 2026. Pyth will provide institutional-grade real-time price feeds for cryptocurrencies, equities, foreign exchange, and commodities directly on Cardano. LayerZero, the cross-chain messaging protocol that will connect Cardano to over 150 blockchains, is advancing through integration and has already seen early usage powering decentralized applications. No confirmed mainnet deployment date has been announced. ## Pentad V2 Engineering teams across the five Pentad members are working on a proposed architecture approach referred to as Pentad V2. The focus is on deeper capital-flow mechanisms, expanded liquidity solutions, connections to Bitcoin and XRP DeFi protocols, Midnight's privacy layer, support for exchange listings, and an incubation program for selected Cardano decentralized applications. The original 70 million ADA allocation has been affected by ADA price movement, with highest-priority items continuing to be delivered on schedule. Given that the initial budget has been squeezed and V2 ambitions go well beyond the original scope, a separate treasury governance action to fund the next phase seems likely, though nothing has been formally proposed yet. Intersect has stated that more concrete details are expected in the weeks ahead. ## Where Things Stand Two of the four announced integrations are now live on mainnet. The remaining two have concrete technical progress behind them and clear near-term timelines. The budget shortfall caused by ADA price dropping is a real constraint but has not disrupted delivery sequencing so far. Whether Pentad V2 moves from design to a formal proposal and what funding it would require remains to be seen.
